Soderbergh’s affectionate homage to ‘40s Noirs, an adaptation of Kanon’s novel about the corrupt chaos of post-war Berlin, is an enjoyable and gorgeous-to-look-at if rather inconsequential and forgettable film, which lacks the sensual fatalism of the films that it aspires to. Iain.Stott
