The plot - a 39-year-old woman begins a sexual relationship with a young man who bares a uncannily strong resemblance, right down to his name, to her high school boyfriend who died 20 years previously - is really rather silly, but, thanks in the main to some beautifully drawn characters and wonderfully credible performances from Linney and Grace, the film is never less than compelling.
